Creativity: November workshop

In November we will be exploring the line of Creativity:

Creativity is about inventiveness, imagination, innovation, originality, individuality. Its also about expressiveness, inspiration, vision, and resourcefulness. Creativity is one of the five human potentials stimulated by the Biodanza system.

The practice of Biodanza helps us to rescue our natural capacity for spontaneous self-expression and gives our creative impulses a chance to shine! With the line of creativity, Biodanza also reminds us that the most important thing to create is our own lives.

Biodanza is a system of human development focused on the fulfilment of human potential through meaningful movement to music within a group setting designed to trigger life enhancing positive integrative experiences.

The workshop will be facilitated by Paula Jardim and Maria Cañizalez Jerez.

October workshop

Biodanza is a system of affective integration focused on the fulfilment of human potential through meaningful movement to music within a group setting designed to trigger life enhancing experiences.
This workshop will focus on the "line of sexuality." In biodanza, sexuality is seen as an essential aspect of human life.  When we focus on sexuality, what we seek is to add pleasure to our life, and develop a sensual relationship with life itself.
We remember to notice the many pleasures of life, and enjoy dance and movement sequences that help us to expand our sensory awareness, dissolve muscular tension and rediscover the body as a source of pleasure.
Why is this important? Research has shown that pleasurable sensations strengthen the immune system, are good for the heart, help to prevent depression and anxiety, and contribute to physical and mental health.

The monthly workshops also restart next week  with Discover Biodanza a 10-month programme that offers you the opportunity to explore different aspects of Biodanza.

The first aspect we will be exploring -and dancing- will be Vitality –the regular practice of Biodanza stimulates vitality!
In our bodies, vitality manifests as good health, physical wellbeing and plenty of energy to do the things we love. Existentially, it shows up as joyful enthusiasm and a strong will to live. This workshop aims to stimulate your liveliness, vivacity, exuberance, buoyancy and vibrancy.

Biodanza workshops on 4th&5th July in Manchester and Sheffield

Scientific research shows that people who have meaning and purpose in their lives feel happier, and experience less anxiety and depression. Studies also show that it is when we feel connected to something bigger than ourselves that we find a meaning and purpose.

In Biodanza this relates to the line of transcendence, which refers to our potential to feel an undescribable sense of oneness with others and the mystery of life. This workshop, facilitated by Paula and Maria, will explore the power of the Biodanza system to help us transcend into bliss.

Paula and Maria are both passionate about Biodanza and both share the same vision of a progressive and very accessible approach to the system that Rolando Toro Araneda created. This also will be our last monthly workshop before we break off for the summer holiday!

Biodanza workshops on 30th&31st May

'No-one's perfect. But so often we compare our insides to other people's outsides. Dwelling on our flaws - what we're not rather than what we've got - makes it much harder to be happy. Learning to accept ourselves, warts and all, and being kinder to ourselves when things go wrong, increases our enjoyment of life, our resilience and our well-being. It also helps us accept others as they are.'

Biodanza is a wonderful tool that can help us to make positive changes to our self-esteem and self-acceptance, by putting us in touch with our own capacites to feel and appreciate life, to be more aware of what makes us feel good. In all, to reinforce our identity.

The theme for this month is Acceptance: feeling comfortable with who we are.

The workshop will be facilitated by Paola and Maria, both passionate about Biodanza and both sharing the same vision of a progressive and very accessible approach to the system that Rolando Toro Araneda created.

Saturday 30th May in Manchester

Biodanza Manchester and Sheffield will be supporting and taking part in this year's Mental Health Awareness Week, an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation (www.mentalhealth.org.uk).

On Wednesday, Mindfulness (the topic for this year Mental Health Awareness week), will be the theme for our weekly class. You are all welcome to join us.

On Friday morning, we will be leading the second session of Biodanza as part of Sheffield Mind (www.sheffieldmind.co.uk) and Body Project.

And from Friday evening we will be starting our special weekend of Yoga and Biodanza in the Peak District which will include mindful movement and mindful walks!

You are welcome to join us on either the weekly session or at the weekend in the Peak (we have a very few places available) or you can join us in both!

It is with great honour to be taking part in these activities that are so beneficial for mental health and wellbeing! Biodanza has been for many people (myself included) a powerful tool to help to recover from mental health issues.
